Autodesk Inc., a world leader in 3D design software for entertainment, natural resources, manufacturing, engineering, construction, and civil infrastructure, announced the release of Factory Design Utilities 2018. This software help you conceptualize, plan, and validate manufacturing facilities for optimized workflows and equipment placement. Design and visualise more efficient factory and facility layouts before equipment is installed.
Factory Design Utilities provide design tools and an optimized environment for factory floor layout. They also allow you to open legacy DWG facility layouts and add factory intelligence to those drawings. The factory drawings can then be used to populate a 3D layout in Inventor Factory. This helps to bridge the gap between modelling in a 2D enviroment to a 3D space and saving you time in the process.
System requirements for Autodesk Factory Design Utilities 2019:
-64-bit Microsoft® Windows® 7 with Service Pack 1, update KB4019990
-64-bit Microsoft Windows 8.1 with update KB2919355
-64-bit Microsoft Windows 10, version 1607 or later
CPU:Recommended 3.0 GHz or faster.
RAM:Recommended:20-GB RAM or more with 160-GB free disk space or more
Display:Conventional displays (recommended):1920x1080 with True Color, and 125% Desktop Scaling (120 DPI) or less is recommended.
Note: Autodesk recommends settings which allow Microsoft Windows to manage virtual memory as needed. There should always be at least twice as much free hard disk space as system memory (RAM)
GPU:Recommended 4 GB GPU with 106 Gbps Bandwidth and DirectX 11 compliant
Autodesk Factory Design Utilities 2019.1.1 Release Notes:
-[FDS-12864]: The Factory Help content Access Denied issue.
-[FDS-12830] [FDS-12878]: System assets and User local assets cannot be searched in the Factory Asset Browser.
-[FDS-13063]: When adding folders containing Factory assets to the Asset Update Tool or Asset Process Property Update Tool, the tools crash.
-[FDS-12879] [FDS-13082]: When you Open (or Sync) a layout from AutoCAD, Inventor or Navisworks, cloud assets cannot be downloaded automatically, if they are missing from the local asset library.
-[FDS-13119]: Changes to a sub-layout in Inventor do not sync back to AutoCAD.
-[FDS-12986]: A sporadic crash occurs when populating an asset chain.
-[FDS-13054]: Update Factory Asset cloud services and redefine how FDU communicates with the cloud storage when uploading or downloading cloud assets.
-[FDS-13045]: The Update Assets command does not update the asset instances that were placed in sub-layouts.
-[FDS-13041] [FDS-12805]: Performance issue on changing a parameter for multiple selected asset instances.
-[FDS-12899]: When you Open Inventor and stay in the zero-document state, changing the icon color in the Inventor Options results in an Inventor crash.
-[FDS-13043]: Linked parameters display in the Key Parameters list.
-[FDS-13050]: When you move the Grip Snap command in the main panel and then restart Inventor, the command moves back to the dropdown list.
-[FDS-13053]: Changing LOD settings (for example, rename, delete, new) when republishing an IAM as a Factory asset causes Inventor to crash. This issue is fixed in FDU2019.1.1 and Inventor 2019.4.
-[FDS-13052]: The project-based library is not shown in Inventor if the project includes another project.
-[FDS-13047]: When suppressing some Factory asset instances in an Inventor layout and then Sync to AutoCAD, AutoCAD crashes.
-[FDS-13051]: The Sync to Inventor command doesn't generate an XREF DWG as a sub-layout in Inventor.
-[FDS-13049]: AutoCAD crashes when hovering over some assets that have corrupted blocks in legacy DWG layouts.
-[FDS-12940]: When you duplicate an asset instance or a sub-layout in AutoCAD, then Sync to Inventor, Inventor hangs.
