HBO is in the early stages of developing a new Game of Thrones prequel series about Aegon I Targaryen's conquest of Westeros.
The show would follow Aegon and his sister-wives Visenya and Rhaenys as they use their dragons and army to conquer six of the seven kingdoms of Westeros, with the exception of Dorne. Aegon I would become the first king of Westeros and sit on the Iron Throne, founding the Targaryen Dynasty. These events took place approximately 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
