The Last Of Us Part I, and Naughty Dog has released a hotfix mostly focused on improving stability and performance. The studio confirmed this is the first of a series of patches meant to improve the game’s current state.

The official patch notes are short, and Naughty Dog noted that it is "closely watching player reports and actively working on a patch with more bugfixes, to be released soon." The devs also added more diagnostic tools in the hotfix as well "to assist in investigating shader building related crashes" and other stability issues.

A hotfix for The Last of Us Part I on PC went live earlier today, focusing primarily on stability and performance improvements. Patch notes are here:
Our team is continuing to investigate known issues, and we will let you know as more updates are planned.

— Naughty Dog (@Naughty_Dog)

Previously a PlayStation exclusive, The Last of Us Part I remake finally came to PC and Steam Deck on March 28. It's been poorly received, with many players. Shaders taking a long time to build on initial start up has been an issue players noted in their negative reviews on Steam, something Naughty Dog acknowledged in the patch notes and said it is taking a look at.
