Warner Bros. Television has unveiled a first look at the upcoming DC Studios drama series The Penguin, featuring Colin Farrell as the titular character. The series, which consists of eight episodes, will debut on Max--the rebranded HBO Max.

The Penguin is a continuation of the crime saga introduced by filmmaker Matt Reeves in the film The Batman. The exclusive first look was revealed during the unveiling of the Max streaming service by Warner Bros. Discovery at the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles. Feast your eyes on the trailer below, which at around 90 seconds gives an exciting overview of the upcoming 2024 show's gritty world and tone. There is no specific release date yet.

The cast of The Penguin includes Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Deirdre O'Connell, with Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen recurring in the series. The show is executive produced by Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, Lauren LeFranc (who also serves as showrunner), Craig Zobel (who directs the first three episodes), and Bill Carraro.
