The Super Mario Bros. Movie from Minions studio Illumination and Nintendo is putting up huge numbers at the box office, but just how much of a success is the animated film? and rounded up all the records that the film has set.

The movie opened with $377 million worldwide, which makes it the biggest worldwide opening of all time for an animated movie, surpassing the previous record-holder Frozen 2 ($358 million). The Super Mario Bros. Movie earned $146.4 million for the Friday-Sunday period in the US, which is second only to Incredibles 2, which made $183 million stateside for its opening weekend in 2018.

At $171 million from international markets for its opening weekend, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is also the second-biggest international opening of all time for an animated movie. It trails only Frozen 2, which made $228.2 million from foreign markets for its debut.
