Developer The Astronauts has revealed a brand-new Witchfire gameplay trailer that breaks down the game's intense magic system.
Shared during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2023, the gameplay presentation was narrated by designer Karol Krok, who went into great detail on how spells work in Witchfire. Krok revealed that there are two types of spells in the game: Light spells, which are quick to execute and cost a small amount of stamina, and Heavy spells, which are slower to use and take longer to generate.
The gameplay video showed off the Cursed Phantom Bell, a Heavy spell that spawns a bell that can be fired upon three times, stunning all nearby minor enemies and, if repeated properly, can even stun major enemies. Krok explained that spells in Witchfire are based on the four core elements: earth, fire, water, and air.
